Tennessee’s Foster Care System Is Failing Children

Thirteen children, ages 1 to 15, are suing the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services’ Commissioner Margie Quin and other state officials, on behalf of over 9,000 kids in the foster care system for mistreatment, including shackling and abuse to lack of education and basic health care. We’re demanding court-ordered changes to fix these systemic failures.

BMSJC Secures Win, Extending Education Rights for Montana Students with Disabilities

BMSJC, in partnership with Disability Rights Montana (DRMT) and co-counsel, has secured a groundbreaking settlement guaranteeing that Montana students with disabilities can remain in school until age 22. This change ends the state’s decades-long practice of cutting off education services at 18, bringing Montana in line with every other state in the nation.
